Three kinds of seafront, one question
Does the property itself have a sea edge? If it does, what lies on that edge sets the category. If it does not, the hotel is not on this site — however short the walk.
Directly on the beach
The grounds meet the sand. You step out of the garden and onto the beach, crossing nothing.

A beach path, a promenade or a stair down lies in between. You see the sea and reach it in a few steps.

Rock, cliff, pebbles or a seawall. The water meets the property, but there is no sand to lie on.
